Personalized Vision and Hearing Services
Find quality products and services at Oakland Vision & Hearing Center. We provide complete eye exams using new, state-of-the-art equipment. We offer over 500 designer and fashion frames to choose from and fulfill eyeglass prescriptions while you wait (most Single Vision Prescriptions).
Most major Medical and Vision insurances such as VSP, Eyemed, Davis Vision, Medicare, BCBS, and more are accepted. We are now offering hearing testing and hearing aids.
Nikki Negar Sedaghat, OD
Nikki Negar Sedaghat OD is from Franklin Lakes, New Jersey where she graduated from Ramapo High School. She completed her undergraduate degree at Villanova University with a Bachelor of Science in Comprehensive Science. She continued her education at the New England College of Optometry, where she received her Doctorate of Optometry in 2013. During her schooling, she volunteered to provide philanthropic eye exams annually; in Massachusetts and in Belize (in association with the Belize Council of the Visually Impaired).
While completing her clinical placements, she gained experience in diverse settings including community healthcare centers, veteran affairs hospitals, and ophthalmology practices. She developed her skills in basic and complex contact lens fittings at the New England Eye Institute, working alongside the contact lens Chief of Service, and pediatric eye exams and vision therapy while being mentored by a former president of the College of Optometrists for Vision Development. She also gained experience in managing and treating glaucoma, cataract, retinal, strabismic, corneal, and oculoplastic cases while working with prestigious ophthalmologists and optometrists at Omni Eye Services of NJ.
She is a member of the NJ Society of Optometric Physicians, the American Optometric Association, and the Iranian American Medical Association. Some of her favorite hobbies include traveling to new destinations, skiing, organic gardening, and aromatherapy.
Dr. Sonya Malani
Dr. Sonya Malani is originally from Maywood, NJ and went to Bergen County Academies for high school. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Rutgers University with a degree in Biological Sciences in 2011. She later received her doctorate from the State University of New York College of Optometry, where she graduated with high honors. She then completed a residency specializing in Ocular Disease and Refractive Surgery at OMNI Eye Services NJ, where she worked alongside a number of distinguished ocular surgeons.
Dr. Malani previously practiced for a couple years in Bergen County, where she worked with Dr. Nikki, before practicing full time in Madison, NJ for 7 years. She reconnected with Dr. Nikki after the birth of her second child and joined Oakland Vision Center in 2023.
As a result of her training and clinical experience, Dr. Malani is well versed in the management of cataracts,glaucoma, macular degeneration, ocular emergencies, and pediatric eye care.
When she is not working, Dr. Malani enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. She also enjoys making candles with scents inspired by food and her cultural roots.
